Aussie Burger with the Lot
This familiar Aussie classic is loaded with nostalgia thanks to the combination of a few essential ingredients known to many as ‘the lot’.
Ingredients
Method
- Place the mince in a bowl and season liberally with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Use your hands to shape 8 even patties, being careful not to work the mince too hard when forming the patties. Set aside on a tray lined with baking paper.
- In batches, add the patties to a hot, heavy based pan with a little oil and cook on one side until deeply caramelised (around 4 minutes). Flip them over and place a slice of cheese on top. Add a dash of water to the pan and place a lid on top to allow the cheese to melt.
- Cook for a further 2–3 minutes in the hot pan. Remove from the pan and set aside on paper towel to drain.
- Fry the eggs sunny side up while the patties are resting.
- To assemble, load up the buns with 2 patties, 1 egg and the other ingredients to your liking.
