Ditch the Espresso Martini
Full disclosure here, I don’t actually drink coffee. I actually have a caffeine allergy so I don’t have anything with caffeine in it, BUT! I know people love a Espresso Martini and lets be honest, that can get a little boring, so here are three coffee forward cocktails that I think you will love next time you are at the bar, having people over for drinks, or just need a little pick-me-up.
Ingredients
Coffee negroni
Method
- Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add the Gin, Campari, Vermouth and Espresso.
- Stir gently for about 20–30 seconds until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
- Garnish with an orange wedge.
- 60ml Bourbon.
- 30ml Coffee Liqueur.
- Dash, aromatic bitters.
- Orange, peel.
- Add Bourbon, Coffee Liqueur and Bitters to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled (about 15–20 seconds). Strain into a chilled glass.
- Garnish with a flamed orange peel (express the oils by lighting the peel briefly over the drink, then drop it in).
- 60ml Licor 43.
- 30ml Espresso Shot.
- Cinnamon quill.
- Pour Licor 43 and Fresh Espresso (hot, room temp, or cold brew) into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until frothy and well-chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a few gratings of cinnamon quill.
